Vodafone & The North Face Lead Recommerce Trend with Refurbished Phones & Recycled Fabrics
Vodafone has joined the recommerce trend, partnering with Recommerce to offer refurbished smartphones. This follows The North Face's commitment to sustainability, with 80% of its synthetic fabrics now made from recycled content. Both companies aim to promote sustainable consumption and affordability.
Vodafone's new initiative, launched in a dedicated Partner Shop, offers a range of refurbished smartphones. These devices have been sorted, inspected, cleaned, and repaired to meet quality standards, similar to The North Face's 'Renewed' program.
The North Face's commitment to sustainability began in 2018 with the pilot of 'The North Face Renewed' collection. Since then, the company has expanded its efforts, launching 20 circular design styles designed for easy disassembly and recycling. It also offers a take-back program, allowing shoppers to drop off used products in 'Renewed Take-Back' bins at stores. These returned items can earn XPLR Pass members $10 credits. The North Face has also collaborated with brands like Online Ceramics to create collections from factory scraps and trained designers in circular design principles through the Renewed Design Residency.
Vodafone and The North Face are leading the way in recommerce and sustainable practices. Vodafone's new initiative offers affordable, refurbished smartphones, while The North Face continues to expand its commitment to recycled fabrics and circular design. Both companies aim to reduce waste and promote sustainable consumption.
