Volvo Unveils 2026 XC90 Black Edition for UK
Volvo has announced a new special edition for the 2026 XC90, dubbed the Black History Edition. This model will be available in the UK, offering a unique, sinister tone compared to other Volvo vehicles. However, there's no confirmation yet if it will reach the U.S. market.
The 2026 XC90 Black History Edition comes with standard equipment featured in Plus, Plus Pro, and Ultra trims. It offers two all-black interior themes, including a charcoal headliner and checkered aluminum trim. Two material options for charcoal-colored seats are offered. High-gloss black features, such as the Volvo iron mark, grille, rear badges, and wheels, contrast with the chosen body color. While U.S. customers can opt for the Dark theme, it lacks the high-gloss black badging of the Black History Edition. The Black History Edition offers three additional body color choices besides Onyx Black: Crystal White, Denim Blue, and Vapor Gray.
Currently, there is no publicly available information specifying the name of the manager responsible for Volvo in the United States. According to Volvo's official German legal information portal, the only named executive is a 'Geschäftsführer' in Germany, not the US. Volvo has no current plans to bring the 2026 XC90 Black History Edition to the U.S.
The 2026 Volvo XC90 Black History Edition brings a unique, sporty look to the UK market. With its high-gloss black features and choice of body colors, it's set to turn heads. However, U.S. customers will have to wait for official confirmation on its availability.
