China's EV Sales Show Positive Growth in Week 30
In the week of July 21–27, 2025, China's electric vehicle (EV) sales displayed a positive trend among major manufacturers.
BYD led the pack with approximately 58,810 units sold, marking a 14% week-over-week increase. This strong performance placed BYD at the forefront of the Chinese EV market in this period.
Tesla followed closely behind, selling around 10,650 to 10,700 vehicles. Tesla's growth was approximately 7.6–8% from the previous week, with the Model Y remaining the main sales driver.
Xpeng reached about 8,400 units, up roughly 25%, while Leapmotor sold 8,700 units, a 6.1% increase, boosted by pre-sales of its new B01 sedan.
Li Auto delivered around 7,400 units, increasing 5.7%, and Xiaomi sold about 7,600 vehicles, continuing steady growth.
Nio registered 3,200 to 5,000 units (sources vary), showing a more modest increase of 2–30% depending on reported figures.
Zeekr data is not explicitly available for week 30 but tends to be comparable among high-growth EV startups.
Elsewhere in the EV market, Onvo, Nio's sub-brand, delivered 6,400 vehicles in June, up 1.89% from May. Zeekr Group delivered 43,012 vehicles in June, down 7.58% from 46,538 units in May.
On June 26, iaomi officially launched the YU7, its first electric SUV. It delivered 48,006 vehicles in June, marking the second consecutive month of record-high deliveries.
Aito, a brand jointly developed by Huawei and Seres Group, registered 10,520 vehicles last week. Nio Inc registered 5,000 vehicles for insurance in China last week, up 2.04% from 4,900 the previous week.
Lynk & Co delivered 26,310 vehicles in June, up 7.66% year-on-year but down 4.78% month-on-month.
Leapmotor had 8,700 insurance registrations last week, up 6.10% from 8,200 the previous week. Nio's sub-brand Onvo had 1,510 insurance registrations last week, down 12.21% from 1,720 the previous week. Firefly, another sub-brand of Nio Inc, registered 230 vehicles for insurance last week, down 66.18% from 680 vehicles the previous week.
The YU7 received 200,000 firm orders within the first three minutes of going on sale and over 240,000 locked-in orders within 18 hours. Firefly delivered 3,932 vehicles in June, up 6.85% from May.
Tesla China sold 71,599 vehicles in June, including those sold in China and exported from China to overseas markets. Zeekr brand's insurance registrations last week reached 3,300 units, up 10.00% from the previous week's 3,000 units.
iaomi's EV unit delivered over 25,000 units in June. Tesla's retail sales in China in June were 61,484 vehicles, the second highest this year.
