YouTube Music Tests AI DJ 'Beyond the Beat'

YouTube Music has launched 'Beyond the Beat', an AI-powered music DJ/host feature, currently in testing with a limited number of US-based participants. The experiment, similar to Spotify's AI DJ, offers insights, backstories, trivia, and history about songs, with users able to snooze the AI hosts for up to a day.

YouTube Labs, the platform for testing new features, is behind this experiment. To access the AI hosts, users must be subscribed to YouTube Music or YouTube Premium and sign up via the YouTube Labs platform at www.youtube.com/new. The feature is not yet available to users outside the USA or without a Premium account.

The 'Beyond the Beat' feature is a radio show with two AI hosts who engage in conversation before and after songs. While the AI provides interesting insights, it may not be perfect and could make mistakes. Google encourages users to provide feedback to help improve the feature before its wider release.
