ZF's Revolutionary ACR8 Seat Belt System Enhances Safety Without NCAP Certification
ZF has unveiled a revolutionary seat belt system, ACR8, that actively positions occupants for optimal safety before potential collisions. This innovative system, manufactured by TRW Automotive, enhances vehicle safety without additional NCAP certification.
The ACR8 active belt tensioner uses vehicle sensors to interact with emergency braking assist, improving restraint system functionality. In critical situations, the seat belt can vibrate, alerting the driver and providing extra reaction time. The system's electromechanical belt tensioner reduces belt slack, enhancing airbag effectiveness in crashes.
Available as a seat-integrated version with a reduced installation depth of 60 millimeters, the ACR8 also serves as a haptic signal transmitter in automated cars, prompting drivers to take control.
ZF's ACR8 active seat belt system, manufactured by TRW Automotive, offers enhanced safety without separate NCAP certification. By actively positioning occupants and providing haptic signals, it improves car safety and driver awareness.
